Faithful Shepherd Pastors Conference: Long Beach Island, NY
P&R Publishing and the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals partnered to sponsor a special conference on May 5–7, 2014 for pastors, elders, and ministry leaders. This was the first pastors’ conference cosponsored by P&R Publishing and the Alliance.
Many men leave seminary exuberant and ready to follow God’s calling, only to discover that the road ahead of them isn’t as smooth as they thought it would be. The conference, titled The Faithful Shepherd: Persevering in Your Church and Ministry, will address a few of the important issues that inevitably arise in church ministry.
• Steve Estes, pastor of Brick Lane Community Church in Elverson, Pennsylvania and coauthor of When God Weeps with Joni Eareckson Tada (Zondervan, 2000), addressed how to deal with “angry sheep.”

This week we present a favorite presentation from one of our past National Conferences. Steve Estes is a pastor, author, and board member of CCEF. Speaker Diane Langberg is a practicing psychologist and director of Diane Langberg, Ph. D. & Associates in Jenkintown, PA. She is an international conference speaker and adjunct professor at Westminster Theological Seminary, as well as the author of numerous books and publications, including On the Threshold of Hope and Counseling Survivors of Sexual Abuse.
In this conference address titled "Self Deception - a Supporting Column of Addiction" Dr. Langberg helps us understand that at the root of not only addiction but most sins is deception, lies we tell not only to God and our loved ones, but to ourselves.
